Queen's Birthday Parade 2015

On Friday June 12th Mom, Dad, Kayla & David arrived in London.  They planned their trip around the Queen's Birthday Parade (Trooping the Color) which was to be held Saturday June 13th.  Since Brian and I had been last year we knew exactly where to be and when in order to get the best views.  Being that Kayla is fascinated by the Royal Family and particularly Kate, The Duchess of Cambridge she could hardly wait!!! We were there plenty early (as you can tell by the picture) to stake out our perfect place!

Let's be honest...The rest of us were pretty excited too!
As the start of the parade approached hundreds of armed guards began to line the route.

Soon multiple marching bands went past.  They are so precise...

When the time came that we could see the first carriage coming Kayla was bursting with excitement!  Priceless...

And then her dreams came true...Seeing Kate!
The crowd was surprisingly quite when she passed but Kayla and I weren't shy...We screamed her name and she looked right at us and gave us a wave!  She sure was looking radiant as ever in her first public appearance since Princess Charlotte was born just 6 weeks earlier.
And along with her and Camilla was Harry! :)

Then came a huge amount of beautiful horses, even a marching band playing while riding...

And then there was the Queen and Prince Phillip!

And Prince Charles, Prince William and Princess Anne...
After about 45 minutes the entire entourage made it's way past us again (after doing the Trooping the Color ceremony at Horse Guards Parade).   First came the horses pulling the canons for the 41 gun salute.  The ground was rumbling and the sound was magnificent and powerful with all the chains and hooves clapping along.

Brian was an excellent photographer again this year!
Love this one...
The entire spectacle is truly a sight to see.  The finale of the event was seeing the entire Royal Family come out on the balcony of Buckingham Palace for a military fly over.  It was Prince George though who stole the show!!!
We were SO excited to see him come out in his first Trooping the Color balcony appearance.  Prince William was holding him as he was wearing the same blue outfit he wore for the ceremony in 1984!  We were beyond thrilled to see him!!!
He couldn't have been any cuter, pointing at the crowd and the sky & staring up as the planes flew over.  He even gave one final wave goodbye before going back into the Palace.  (Again thanks Brian for getting these great shots!)

The huge flag is the Royal Standard which is flown when the Queen is in residence at the Palace.

 All smiles!

Mimosas in the park after to celebrate a great time!

The second half of the day took us to Westminster Bridge...

The event we watched there was a naked bike ride... Hilarious and SO much worse then it sounds!!!  Pictures are WAY to inappropriate to be featured with the Queen! :)
A day to remember indeed!
